Students K-6 will participate in a weekly music lesson as part of the Creative Arts curriculum. Within this lesson, students will explore a range of music through song, dance, movement and instruments. Students in Years 3 to 6 will learn the basics of reading music notation and playing keyboards.
We also offer a range of extra-curricular music opportunities including:
School Band Program
In partnership with the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music, Year 3 to 6 students are invited to be part of the school band. We have our beginner training band for first year band members, with graduation to the Concert Band. The band program involves a range of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments.
School Choir ‘Chorestra’
Our Year 3-6 Choir provides the opportunity for students who love to sing, an avenue for singing together. We are fully inclusive and provide a supportive environment for all singers. The school choir is focussed on working together to perform as one voice while developing individual singing skills and technique.
The choir meets weekly to develop repertoire and singing skills for performances at School Masses, assemblies, special events and within local parish and broader community.
Patrick’s Recorder Club
The ‘St Pats Recorder Club’ offer the opportunity for students in Years 3-6 to develop their recorder skills. Students work through a sequential program at their own pace receiving ‘belts’ as they master each stage. With a focus on accuracy, commitment and practice, our Recorder program allows students to further develop their musical literacy and musicianship. The Recorder Club also work towards group performances within the school environment.
Guitar & Keyboard Programs
We offer individual and small guitar and recorder lessons in partnership with the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music.
